Skincare Product Lines
At Skin Solutions we are continuously searching for the best corrective skincare product ranges on the world market, and strive to make these available for sale to our clients, as well as to use them in our professional treatments. It is important to understand the difference between medical aesthetic/cosmeceutic products and the typical high street skincare ranges. Cosmeceutics, as the term implies, are cosmetic products produced to pharmaceutical standards but are not classified as medication because they are made of natural ingredients which cannot be patented and do not require such strict controls. Money is spent on research and quality ingredients, which allows for some powerful and highly effective formulations, without dangerous side effects, to be made available through skincare professionals who are thoroughly trained in their use – as opposed to the expensively marketed “miracle in a jar” formulations available from the shops, that are really simple, old-fashioned moisturisers in expensive packaging, or cheap ingredients that work against the skin to achieve superficial results.
Cutting-edge skincare technology, based on sound skin science principals, is a crucial element in our quest to empower men and women of all ages to gain and maintain a healthy, youthful skin for life. We believe that an individually tailored home skincare regime, using state-of-the-art cosmeceutic products and excellent sun protection, combined with the appropriate professional skincare treatments and optimum nutrition, is the only way to achieve this. Therefore we do not sell products to the general public on-line.
We currently stock the following skincare product lines:
CosMedix Chirally Correct Skincare – “Most skincare products use ingredients that don’t fit properly on the skin’s receptors, and therefore cause irritation and other harmful side effects. Using these chemical impurities is like trying to put a right-handed glove on your left hand, it simply doesn’t work.
CosMedix products fit because they are chirally correct. They are purified, more concentrated, more affective and less irritating than any other product available today. The FDA has mandated that all drugs should be chirally corrected. Similarly, chirality is the future of effective skincare.”
Dr Ben Johnson M.D.
Founder and President of Cosmedix
Environ Skincare – the introduction of
vitamin A into skincare formulations was a ground-breaking moment, because it offered benefits to
sun-
damaged skin. Prominent Cape Town plastic surgeon Dr Des Fernandes was a pioneer in this field. In the 1980’s he was one of the first to use vitamin A in high enough doses for a genuine, measurable effect on the quality of the skin.
Dr Fernandes became interested in the mechanics of skin cancer and the skin following the untimely deaths of two young patients due to melanoma. Through his research, he discovered the essential role of vitamin A in skin health and he became determined to create treatments that would maintain healthy skins, especially as the incidence of sun-related skin disorders grows worldwide. Out of this, the Environ range and company were born.
Environ’s skincare range has expanded considerably since that time, but their Original line of mild to moderate strength vitamin A creams is, in our opinion, still the best and safest method of introducing vitamin A to extremely sensitive, inflamed and eczematic skin.
Ejuvé from
Phytoceutical – a unique, holistic skincare range, which is custom made to order by Will Buchanan of
Phytoceutical for Skin Solutions and other discerning professional skincare centres. The formulations combine
traditional,
oriental,
botanical medicine with
modern cosmeceutic science, using the finest actives sourced from around the world for the best in modern skincare – the result of ten years of research and development in topical skin preparations.
Ejuvé’s Pharma Grade Vitamin C Serum, in 10% and 20% strengths, is the finest and most anti-ageing formulations of vitamin C that we at Skin Solutions have ever encountered.
Synchroline from SkinMed – an excellent, value-for-money, extensive skincare range with creams and serums that target a full spectrum of common skin problems of the face and body. In particular, the Synchrorose line – for the reduction of skin redness in Rosacea and other inflamed conditions – is exceptionally effective and popular with our clients, as is Terproline Professional – a very useful cream for damaged skin and scar recovery, which is helpful for post-peel and post-microdermabrasion application, both in the clinic and at home.

Salcura – a range of biomedical skincare products for home use, aimed primarily at extreme dry skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis, urticaria (hives) and skin allergies, as well as shaving rash and ingrown hairs. The formulations are guaranteed free of steroids, hormones, cortisones, peroxides, alcohol, parabens and antibiotics, and have been certified as being non-toxic and safe. The carefully selected ingredients include natural oils, vitamins and minerals formulated in a colloidal solution for a naturally regulated and balanced action of all vital and active ingredients.
These inexpensive, efficacious products include bath oil, shampoo, skin sprays and creams that can be used by adults as well as children. The Salcura Gentle spray – a calming, itch-relieving spray for young babies with eczema – is immensely popular with our adult clients who have extremely sensitive facial skin and is mild enough to use on dry, flaking skin around the eyes.
Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics – a new technology in cosmetics that is a fundamentally different kind of make-up from the high street brands, and is a true extension of skincare. It is recommended by plastic surgeons and dermatologists all over the world due to its safe, sun-protective qualities, which allow it to be used on damaged or post-operative skin, enabling the user (both male and female), to face the public with confidence while the skin continues to heal.
The micronised mineral bases (pressed or loose) are four products in one: foundation, powder, concealer and sunscreen, and will disguise almost any skin discolouration, in any ethnic skin type, including the redness of severe Rosacea. At Skin Solutions we have been using this fantastic product on our clients for eight years, after every professional treatment, enabling clients to leave the clinic looking rejuvenated rather than red!
The Jane Iredale range is very extensive, with a wide choice of lip, cheek and eye colours and products – all produced ethically and without chemical preservatives, FD&C dyes, synthetic fragrance or fillers such as talc. The result is skincare make-up that fits in perfectly with our quest for skin health restoration.
